Dare to Zouk is our dedicated beginner program—8 hours of structured curriculum over two days, designed to take you from "I've never done this" to social dancing by Sunday night.

What makes it special:

  • No partner needed. Rotate with other beginners in a supportive, low-pressure environment.

  • No experience required. We start with the absolute basics and build from there.

  • Proven track record. Now in our 8th year, hundreds of dancers have started their Brazilian Zouk journey with this program.

  • Be part of the full experience. After each day's classes, you'll join the evening parties and performances with everyone else—putting your new skills to work on the dance floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Full Festival Pass gives you access to all workshop levels (beginner through advanced) across Brazilian Zouk and Lambada tracks, plus all socials and evening parties.

    Dare to Zouk is a dedicated 8-hour beginner curriculum spread across Saturday to Sunday, designed for people who have little to no Brazilian Zouk experience. You'll still get access to all evening socials and parties—you just attend beginner-specific classes during the day instead of choosing from the full workshop schedule.

  • Nope. Brazilian Zouk is a social dance—you rotate partners during workshops, and at socials (aka parties) you can dance with anyone. Most people attend solo or with friends, not romantic partners.

  • That's exactly what Dare to Zouk is for. You'll learn in a structured, supportive environment with other beginners. No experience needed, no partner required. Just show up ready to move.

  • In partner dancing, one person leads (initiates and guides the movements) and the other follows (responds and interprets). Choose "Lead" if you primarily lead, or "Follow" if you primarily follow or switch between both roles.

  • All sales are final—we don't offer refunds. However, we offer the option to transfer your pass for a fee if you can't attend:

    Transfer your pass: Sell or give your pass to someone else by the transfer deadline (three days prior to the event). Transfer fee may apply. Email nyczoukevents@gmail.com and we'll help you complete the transfer.

  • We use a tiered pricing system—each time a lot sells out, prices increase in small increments. The earlier you buy, the more you save.

  • Included in your pass:

    • All workshops (Full Pass) or beginner curriculum (Dare to Zouk) from Friday evening to Sunday evening.

    • All afternoon/evening socials and parties

    NOT included:

    • Hotel accommodations ([link to Hotel page] when available)

    • Friday Masterclasses (optional add-on, available at checkout)

  • We typically host 350+ dancers, instructors, DJs, and volunteers each year. It's large enough to meet amazing people from across the country, but intimate enough that you'll see familiar faces on the dance floor all weekend.
